On the occasion of *Children’s Day, the Department of Dentistry, B.G. Nagar, organized an “Oral Health Check-up and Awareness Camp” on 17.11.2025.* The initiative aimed to promote oral health awareness and provide essential dental services to the students of the *Residential School at Adichunchanagiri.*
Throughout the programme, the dental team conducted *free dental check-ups for over 200 students* . The service focused on identifying potential oral health issues such as *dental caries, gum diseases, and signs of oral cancer* . Dentists performed thorough oral examinations and offered personalized guidance on maintaining proper oral hygiene practices.
*Objectives of the Programme*
The primary objectives of the Oral Health Day organized on the occasion of Children’s Day were to:
• Raise awareness on the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene.
• Educate residential school students about common oral diseases and their prevention.
• Promote good oral health habits including brushing, flossing, and periodic dental check-ups.
• Provide free dental screening and consultations for children.
*Outcome of the Programme*
The *Oral Hygiene Day* at the Adichunchanagiri Mutt Residential School was a *notable success* , significantly contributing to improved awareness regarding oral health among children. Through engaging activities, interactive educational sessions, and complimentary dental services, the event effectively imparted knowledge on oral care and preventive practices.
