Dr. Ravi K. S is a distinguished academician, ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon, and healthcare administrator with over 13 years of teaching experience and more than a decade of leadership in tertiary care hospital administration. He currently serves as the Chief of Hospital at Adichunchanagiri Hospital, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Adichunchanagiri University, B.G. Nagara, Karnataka.
An alumnus of M. S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru (MBBS) and J.J.M. Medical College, Davangere (MS in Otorhinolaryngology), Dr. Ravi has further strengthened his expertise through a Diploma in Hospital Administration from the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi, a Professional Certificate Course in Hospital Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore), and an MBA in Healthcare Management. This unique blend of clinical expertise and formal management education has enabled him to successfully integrate patient care with strategic healthcare leadership.
Dr. Ravi began his administrative career with his appointment as Deputy Medical Superintendent at Adichunchanagiri Hospital. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the institution through visionary leadership and effective governance. His contributions include hospital expansion, quality improvement initiatives, digital transformation, infrastructure development, operational excellence, and strategic institutional planning.
Among his notable achievements are significant improvements in patient care and financial performance, introduction of several new clinical services, initiation of innovative academic programmes, expansion of undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats, starting of various allied health sciences courses and strengthening of hospital quality systems through successful implementation of national accreditation standards. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as the Nodal Officer for COVID-19 Management, where he efficiently coordinated multidisciplinary teams and optimally utilized available resources to deliver quality care to a large number of patients during one of the most challenging periods in modern healthcare.
Recognizing his dedication, commitment to healthcare, administrative excellence, inspirational leadership, and good governance, he was entrusted with progressively higher responsibilities, serving as Deputy Chief of Hospital, Vice Principal of AIMS, and Chairperson of the Postgraduate Board of Studies (Surgical & Allied Subjects) at Adichunchanagiri University. Subsequently, he was elevated to the position of Chief of Hospital at Adichunchanagiri Hospital.
Dr. Ravi’s areas of expertise encompass hospital administration, medical education, healthcare quality and accreditation, regulatory compliance (NMC, INC, NCAHP and other statutory bodies), strategic planning, healthcare operations, infrastructure development, institutional governance, and healthcare policy implementation. He has successfully led multidisciplinary teams in achieving national quality standards, strengthening academic systems, implementing innovative clinical and educational programmes, and executing large-scale institutional projects aimed at expanding specialty services, enhancing research infrastructure, and delivering patient-centred care.
As an accomplished ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon, Dr. Ravi has extensive experience in managing complex otolaryngological disorders, with special expertise in Endoscopic Nasal Surgery, Microscopic Ear Surgery, and Head & Neck Surgery. He combines surgical excellence with a strong commitment to evidence-based clinical practice and patient safety.
A passionate medical educator, Dr. Ravi is deeply committed to Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), postgraduate training, faculty development, and mentoring future healthcare professionals.He is actively involved in clinical research, institutional ethics, multicentric studies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), protocol development, scientific publications, and presentations at national and international conferences.
