The mission of the library is to provide high quality, convenient, timely and affordable access to relevant biomedical information resources including research preferences to health science professionals of the Institution.

AIMS LRC

Currently “AIMS Learning Resource Centre” is one among the major Constituent College Library of Adichunchanagiri University being established during January 2018, earlier, the institution was affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore, from the period of inception.

The “AIMS Learning Resource Centre” is one among the core department in the Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences has been established in the year 1986 with the sole purpose to quench the thirst for knowledge and to fulfill the concerned needs of both the faculty and the students.

It aims to provide documents, information, and environment that can suit in imparting education, promoting research and development thereby leading to improved patient care pertaining to medical education. The existing state-of-the-art new modern library is centrally air-conditioned and well-furnished for the readers. The library has a Wi-Fi facility to browse and access the resources in any part of the premises.  This library has formulated and adopted its Mission, Vision, Goals, and Objectives in tune with the institutional objectives of the parent organization to serve the stakeholders.

Infrastructure

The Learning Resource Center is located in the eastern part of the college premises, the physical space of the library building spreads over 2936.00 Sq. meters in the library landscape, and in addition, the extension of the library building is under way.  The library building is well planned and designed according to the functional needs of the library in modern era, adequate provisions have been made for all the sections and services area of the Library for serving the users. The AIMS LRC is a most lively place on the campus providing a safe and comfortable and friendly/conducive environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promoting discovery and scholarship.

Goals & Objectives

Goals

  • To support the curriculum with the latest relevant information resources.
  • To support academic excellence, faculty research and contribute to student success by improving reference and library instruction services.
  • To provide both intellectual and physical access to materials in a variety of forms.
  • To provide ubiquitous access to reading materials on the utilization of the websites, and
  • All the library users will be assisted by friendly, professional staff trained in determining the users’ needs in locating the information on time.

Objectives

  • To build up wide range of collection in different formats of reading materials to disseminate bio-medical information to clinicians, academic staffs, researchers, health planners and other health professionals.
  • To develop an efficient medical information system to support teaching, learning and training and research activities in the field of biomedical and allied health sciences.
  • To improve the standards of Medical education aligned with research.

Regular Days: 9.00 am to 10.00 pm

Sundays: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
