AIMS NSS UNIT

National Service Scheme, popularly known as NSS was launched in 1969, marking the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. NSS is a noble initiative being implemented to strengthen the students’ aspirations. It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work among the students and teachers through sustained community interactions, it brings our academic institutions closer to society. The activities of NSS translate knowledge into action to achieve results which are desirable for community development.

NSS AIMS unit was established in the year 2012 under the able guidance of Dr.Shivramu M G, Principal, AIMS. From 2018 it is under the aegis of Adichunchanagiri University.

Objectives of AIMS NSS unit

1. 1. To identify needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving
   2. Making education more relevant to the present situation to meet the needs of community
   3. Providing opportunities to the students to play their role in planning and executing development projects
   4. Encouraging students to work together along with rural adults
   5. Developing qualities of leadership among students
   6. Emphasizing dignity of labor and self-help
