Department of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery of Adichunchanagiri Institute Of Medical sciences started as a humble beginning in the year 1990 . It has now grown exponentially in to a full fledged department with a fully equipped OPD and OT. The OPD houses state of the art facilities such as microscopy, endoscopy, vestibular testing facility and audiology. Our major OT is well equipped with high end microscope, microdebrider, nerve monitor and bronchoscope. Well trained and competent ENT surgeons of the department handle all major cases including facial trauma and head & neck malignancies. The department also has a state of art temporal bone dissection lab which helps staff and postgraduates to hone their skills in ear surgeries.
The department also excels in post graduate and undergraduate teaching. Our teaching programs utilize the most modern teaching learning tools for efficient and goal oriented teaching. The department has been running a successful post graduate programme since 2009 . Four postgraduate students are trained every year to be competent ENT specialist. Our students regularly present research papers and posters in various conferences and have brought laurels to the institution.
The department is actively involved in research and the results are regularly published in various journals. We hope our research will act as a catalyst for betterment of knowledge in our field as well as contribute to the welfare of society at large.
We also conduct health camps at remote places thus extending our services to a larger population. These camps also creates awareness about hearing loss, prevention and treatment of head and neck cancer and other related ailments.
