Graduation Day for the 2019 batch of medical students and the 2021 batch of Allied Health Sciences students was successfully held on 9th April 2025, under the divine blessings of His Holiness, Padma Bhushana Sri Sri Sri Dr. Bala Gangadharanatha Maha Swamiji and Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji.
The ceremony was graced by the divine presence of Poojya Sri Sri Purushothamanandanatha Swamiji and esteemed chief guests Sri Harsh Gupta, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Karnataka, and Dr. B.C. Bhagavan, Honourable Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru.
Distinguished dignitaries present included Dr. M.A. Shekar, Honourable Vice Chancellor, ACU; Sri D. Devaraj, Member, ACU Board of Governors; Dr. C.K. Subbaraya, Registrar, ACU; Dr. M.G. Shivaramu, Principal, AIMS & Dean of Health Sciences (Medical); and Dr. K.M. Shivakumar, Chief, Adichunchanagiri Hospital.
The program commenced with a captivating Bharatanatyam performance by the Laasya group of AIMS students, followed by a heartfelt tribute video dedicated to the parents of the graduating students. A soulful Bhavageethe was rendered by Ms. Sri Raksha, a 3rd year medical student.
Dr. M.G. Shivaramu delivered the welcome address, extending warm greetings to the dignitaries and audience while highlighting the remarkable achievements of the graduating batch – Atharvans.
In his inaugural address, Dr. M.A. Shekar emphasized the lifelong journey of learning in the field of medicine. He encouraged the graduates to continuously seek knowledge, face challenges with courage, learn from their experiences, and always remain humble and inquisitive.
Sri Harsh Gupta extended his congratulations and advised medical graduates to practice with empathy, uphold humanitarian values, and contribute actively to community service.
Dr. B.C. Bhagavan stressed the importance of continual learning in medical education, recognizing it as a dynamic and evolving field. He invited graduates to engage with RGUHS in the future, either through postgraduate studies, student exchange programs, or as faculty members.
Poojya Sri Sri Purushothamanandanatha Swamiji, in his divine blessings, praised the medical profession as one of noble service. He remarked, “Doctors are the true heroes of society, working selflessly to heal and comfort the sick. A doctor is not just a healer but a source of hope and strength.” He urged graduates to serve society with sincerity and to always honour their parents.
A total of *148 medical graduates and 34 Allied Health Sciences graduates* were conferred medals and certificates during the ceremony.
