The Department of ACU–Learning Resource Centre, in collaboration with AIMS-IQAC, the Scientific Committee, JMSH Board, and Clarivate (Asia Pacific Region), organized a workshop on “Advancing Medical Research and Clinical Insights with ProQuest Health Resources” on 20th August 2025 at the BGS Global Broadcasting Centre, AIMS.
 
The event was held under the guidance of Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Principal, AIMS and Dean (Medical), ACU, and was chaired by Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Professor of Biochemistry & Vice Principal, AIMS. 
 
The workshop featured Mr. Srijith Shashidharan, Customer Success Manager, Clarivate, Asia Pacific Region, as the Guest Speaker, and was facilitated by Dr. Vasanth Kumar M, Chief Librarian, ACU.
 
Objective of the Workshop
The primary objective of the session was to strengthen participants’ competencies in:
• Navigating ProQuest Health databases effectively.
• Applying advanced search strategies for retrieving medical literature.
• Accessing peer-reviewed journals, clinical trial data, and evidence-based resources.
• Integrating ProQuest tools into academic research and clinical decision-making.
 
The session commenced with a keynote address by the Chairperson, followed by an engaging presentation delivered by the Guest Speaker, Mr. Srijith Shashidharan. A total of 91 participants attended the workshop.
 
Outcomes
• Participants acquired hands-on experience in exploring and utilizing ProQuest Health Resources for both academic and clinical research.
• Faculty members and clinicians expressed keen interest in embedding ProQuest tools into teaching, learning, and clinical practice.
• Feedback highlighted strong appreciation for the practical relevance, clarity, and applicability of the training.
