Celebrating Student Achievers – Valedictory of World Breastfeeding Week 2025
 
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), organized the valedictory ceremony of World Breastfeeding Week 2025 on 20th August 2025. 
 
The event was chaired by Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Principal, AIMS and Dean (Medical), ACU, and was graced by Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Professor of Biochemistry & Vice Principal, AIMS. Faculty, residents, and undergraduate students attended the programme.
 
World Breastfeeding Week was observed from 1st to 8th August 2025, during which a *range of community outreach, awareness, and academic activities* were conducted. A quiz competition was held for postgraduates on 4th August and for undergraduates on 5th August. In addition, final-year MBBS students staged a skit in the OBG OPD waiting area, aimed at sensitizing the public about the benefits of breastfeeding and addressing common superstitions.
 
At the valedictory function, quiz winners and skit participants were felicitated. 
 
The *undergraduate* *quiz winners* were Varun B S, V Varun Kashyap, Loinoli J Sumi, Lipika R Jain, and Himani N (8th Term, Final Year). The first runners-up were Trishna Khatri, Geetha Manojna G R, Kavya S, Keerthana N, and Ichhitha S N (8th Term, Final Year). 
 
The *postgraduate quiz winners* were Dr. Bharathi, Dr. Spoorthi Raj, and Dr. Tejaswini M (2nd Year), while the first runners-up included Dr. Chiniwar M (Consultant), Dr. Sripooja G, Dr. P Hanisha, and Dr. Lavanya Kumar (Final Year). 
 
All winners received certificates and mementos from Dr. MG Shivaramu, who commended their enthusiasm and academic spirit.
 
The undergraduate students also presented a short re-enactment of their skit, which received appreciation from the audience. The participants were Adith Kiran Nath (Narrator), Adnan (PG), Akshay D (Doctor), Manoj H K (Husband), Deeksha K (Mother), Aishwarya M N (Mother-in-law), Yuktha K (Neighbour), and Manuja H (ASHA worker).
 
We extend heartfelt congratulations  to all winners and participants 
 
The programme concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and mementos to skit performers, thereby marking the successful completion of World Breastfeeding Week 2025 at AIMS
 
Outcome of the event
“The activities enabled students to enhance their academic knowledge, communication skills, and social responsibility by actively engaging in spreading awareness on the importance of breastfeeding.”
