The Department of Pathology, AIMS, successfully conducted a Hands-on Workshop on Liquid Based Cytology (LBC) on 18th September 2025 in collaboration with Hemogenomics. The session was led by Dr. Shweta Singh, Consultant, Hemogenomics, who delivered an insightful talk on the principles, workflow, and advantages of LBC compared to the conventional Pap smear technique.
 
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing participants—including faculty members, postgraduate students, and technical staff—with both theoretical insights and practical exposure. Through slide reviews, video demonstrations, and interactive discussions, attendees gained enhanced understanding of modern cytological techniques.
 
The session also highlighted the critical role of Liquid Based Cytology in cervical cancer screening and early detection, reinforcing the importance of adopting advanced diagnostic technologies in clinical practice.
 
The event concluded with positive feedback from participants, appreciating the hands-on learning experience and the comprehensive overview of this vital diagnostic innovation.
