The National Pulse Polio Programme – 2025 was inaugurated at Adichunchanagiri Mutt by Poojya Mahaswamiji Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha mahaswamiji in the presence of Sri H. D. Kumaraswamy, Hon’ble Union Minister for Heavy Industries, Government of India. The programme was formally launched by administering polio drops to children, highlighting the commitment to protect every child from poliomyelitis. The campaign was organized by the Department of Community Medicine and NSS Unit, AIMS, in association with CHC Bellur, under the guidance of Dr. Raghavendra S. K. Associate Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine. Faculty members, health staff, NSS volunteers, interns, and students actively participated, ensuring successful community engagement. |

The key objectives include: v To eradicate poliomyelitis by interrupting transmission of the poliovirus through mass immunization. v To immunize all children below 5 years of age with Oral Polio Vaccine, irrespective of previous immunization status. v To maintain India’s polio-free status by preventing re-emergence of the disease. v To strengthen routine immunization and ensure repeated doses for sustained immunity. v To increase community awareness and participation regarding the importance of polio vaccination.
