As part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, the Department of Community Medicine and Department of OBG, AIMS, jointly organized an interactive awareness program focusing on women’s health and empowerment.
Objectives of the Program
To create awareness regarding Anemia and Malnutrition in young women.
To promote knowledge on Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Program Sessions
Dr. Sunil C V, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Sushmitha, Dr.Bharathi Postgraduate, Dept. of OBG, delivered a session on Menstrual Hygiene.
The talk highlighted the importance of breaking myths, adopting safe and hygienic practices, and promoting eco-friendly and affordable menstrual products. Students were sensitized on safe absorbent usage, proper disposal, and maintaining dignity during menstruation. Interactive discussions encouraged open conversations on this often-silent topic.

Dr. Raghavendra S K, Dept. of Community Medicine, gave an insightful session on Anaemia and Nutrition among Young Women.
He discussed the alarming prevalence of anaemia in India, its impact on women’s health, education, and motherhood, and prevention strategies through a balanced diet, iron-rich foods, IFA supplementation, and healthy lifestyle practices.
The key message emphasized: “Swasth Nari = Sashakt Parivar” — A healthy woman is the foundation of a healthy and empowered family.

The event was well-received, with 395 students and faculty members actively participating. The collaborative efforts of the organizing departments ensured the program’s success in spreading awareness about vital women’s health issues.
