Nutrition awareness programme at Abhyass International School.

The *Department of Biochemistry* , AIMS, BG Nagara, organized an extension activity at Abhyaas International School, Bellur Cross, Nagamangala Taluk, Mandya District on 9th September 2025 to celebrate *National Nutrition Week 2025* with the theme “ *Eat Right for a Better Life* ”. The programme began with a warm welcome address by Mr. Mohan Kumar, Principal, and the Staff of Abhyaas International School.

✨ Awareness Sessions:

Ms. Veena S. C. highlighted the role of physical activity, BMI calculation, and healthy lifestyle practices.Dr. Shivakumar explained how the body uses energy, food choices, and essential nutrients.Dr. Adithya Prakash spoke on vitamins, their food sources, and functions.Dr. Asheeth Kamble, Dr. Omkar, and Ms. Inchara S engaged students with fun activities and riddles.Mrs. Johnsi Priya J concluded by stressing healthy food habits, quoting: “Let food be thy medicine, otherwise medicine will be our food.”

The event was attended by the department faculty, school principal, teachers, and Grade 6 students. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rajeshwari A, Professor. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Shilpashree Y. D. (Organizing Chairman), Dr. Rajeshwari A. (Organising Secretary), and faculty members. Students were later served nutritious snacks.Overall The program received wide appreciation from all participants.

The Department of Biochemistry expresses gratitude to Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Principal & Dean (Health Sciences), and Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, for their constant support in making the event a success.
