PG Orientation Program

To facilitate smooth transition from undergraduate life to Post graduation, a PG orientation program was organized by Medical Education Unit on 5th and 6th of December, 2022 at seminar hall, ground floor, AIMS.
 
On the first day, the registration of participants started by 9:00 am and pre-test was given to the participants. There was an ice breaking session moderated by Dr. Asharani.N which included introduction of all fresh post graduate students of batch 2022. Later, Inaugural program was started with an invocation song by Dr. Monisha.R and Dr. Abhirami.K. 
 
Dr. Tejaswi.H.L, Convener, MEU welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. Prof. Dr. M.A. Shekar, honorable Vice Chancellor, Adichunchanagiri University inaugurated the event and also explained the relevance of medical ethics in clinical practice and daily living in the first session of the day. 
 
Dr. M.G.Shivaramu, Principal, Dean, Health sciences (Medical), ACU briefed about the vision and mission of the university and gave overview of the institution. Dr.Shivakumar.K.M, Chief of Hospital, Adichunchanagiri hospital and research center mentioned the roles and responsibilities of new residents. The day’s program ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Sudhir. G.K, Co-convener of MEU.
 
On the second day, Dr. Vinay.H.R, associate professor in the department of Psychiatry and PG program coordinator in MEU started off with the session on PG Curriculum. The resource persons for the sessions on subject seminar and journal club were Dr. 
 
Tejaswi.H.L, Professor and Head of Anatomy and Dr. Vinay.S.Bhat, Professor in ENT respectively. Last session was on orientation to AIMS Learning resource center by senior librarian Dr. Vasanthakumar. M. 
 
There was a panel discussion on accreditation processes the institution is undergoing (NAAC, NABH, ISO, NIRF etc). The panelists were Dr. M.G.Shivaramu, Principal, Dr. Aliya Nusrath, coordinator of NAAC, Dr. Sudhir. G.K coordinator for IQAC and ISO certification process, and Dr. Ravi.K.S, deputy Medical Superintendent. Dr. Tejaswi.H.L, coordinator of NIRF moderated the session. 
 
Feedback was taken from the participants and valedictory session was organized with distribution of certificates. Post-test was carried out on participant postgraduates and analyzed by Dr. Madhunandan.K, assistant professor in pediatric
