Brief Report of the Event

Theme for the year 2024: Celebrating the joy & Potential of every child

The event was honored by the presence of Dr. M.G. Shivaramu, Principal of AIMS and Dean of Health Sciences (Medical), ACU. Dr.Shivakumar K M, chief of Hospital AH & RC and RMO Mr.Somashekar were the guests of honour. Other participants were faculty from other departments.

 The event started off with an invocation followed by a welcome address by Dr.K B Mahendrappa, HOD Paediatrics. The program was inaugurated by the dignitaries by watering the plants.

The chief guest, Dr.M G Shivaramu delivered an inspiring address on the significance of the children’s day celebration like raising the awareness about rights, education and well-being of children.

Dr K B Mahendrappa welcomed the guests and in his welcome address he advised mothers and parents about the measures to be  taken to have a healthy child. Dr.K B  Mahendrappa also addressed the importance of breastfeeding, increased interaction and connect with the child by the parent and reduction of use of digital devices like mobile phones. He quoted that India has 48 crore of children less than 18 years, amounting to  1/3rd of Indian population & emphasized the magnitude of our responsibility.             

Mr.Somashekar told that “the health of the children today, is the wealth of the nation tomorrow. Dr. Rajshekhar stressed on the fact that every child has to be educated for a better tomorrow.

There was  a cake cutting ceremony followed by  various dance, drawing and singing competitions, where in the children from all the nearby local areas showcased their incredible talent.

Myriad designs and wonderful drawings were showcased by the school children & by the children who had recovered from their illness.

The children were very  happy & enjoyed  the celebration by dancing, jumping, singing, and drawing. Children were given colourful T-shirts,  gift boxes, snacks and the winners of the competition were rewarded with Medals. As per the theme of 2024 children’s day celebration,  kids celebrated joy & expressed their potential. An Awareness about the rights of children, education & well-being of children was created among Mothers & caretakers of children attending the event.

The event was like a festival enjoyed by the  kids. Overall it was a successful event  and a grand celebration organized by the department of paediatrics, AIMS.

Outcome

The celebration was a grand success were in the children overjoyed the program and the parents were educated about rights, education and well-being of children.

 Children were given colourful T-shirts,  gift boxes & snacks. Winners of the competition were rewarded with Medals. An Awareness about the rights of children, education & well-being of children was created among Mothers & caretakers of children attending the event.
