Brief Report of the Event ( in about 200 words)

Department of Clinical Psychology, AIMS has organised “Orientation & Demonstration on Psychosocial Tools & Techniques

” on 17th September 2025 at Department of Clinical Psychology, AH&RC.

 

The program was inaugurated with a symbolic gesture of watering a plant marking the commencement of the event followed by invocation song by B.Ed students. Mr. Lokeshkumar V, Asst. Professor, BGSCE delivered a warm welcome speech, extending a gracious greeting to the distinguished guest speakers for the orientation program.  

 

Dr. Neha Farheen Mushtaq Associate Professor & HOD, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, delivered an inaugural speech, introducing the fundamentals of psychology and providing an overview of the orientation program.

 

Dr. Vijaya Kumar K S, Associate Professor, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, has delivered the lecture about Child Mental Health Issues and demonstrated BKT, VSMS and MISIC IQ assessment tools.

 

 

 

Ms.Bramaramba D Honnugudi, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, addressed the students regarding the role of teachers in identifying and managing child related academic issues. She also briefed about projective tests like Rorschach test, Children’s apperception test and Thematic apperception test followed by discussion.

Bharath Bhushan.M.N, Consultant PSW, Department of Psychiatry, delivered an informative session to students, focusing on common psychological and behavioural issues among school children. He specifically addressed Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) in children, providing valuable insight and the session included a practical demonstration on conducting SLD assessment as per NIMHANS index followed by an engaging discussion.

 

Mr.Ganesh Lakshman, Consultant PSW, spoken about Autism, ADHD and Depression, Anxiety related issues among children. He has also spoken about identifying and management of abnormal child behaviour.

Feedback was collected from the students and faculties through informal conversations.

• Students and faculties: Expressed excitement and motivation after orientation.

• Faculty: Positive feedback regarding hands on sessions and the overall organization of the event.

Outcome

·       Students and faculties understand the role of teachers in applying those tools and techniques for managing academics issues.
