Department of Psychiatry, in collaboration with Indian Psychiatric Society-Karnataka Chapter(IPS-KC), in association with Department of Clinical Psychology,celebrated World Suicide Prevention Day on 11 September 2023 at Govt.PU College,Bellur.
 
Programme commenced with an invocation song by 2nd year PU students. Dr. Shivakumar.B.K, Professor and HOD, Department of Psychiatry, AIMS inaugurated the event and also explained the relevance of preventing suicide amongst adolescents as well as adults.The session was followed by 2 activities which were co-ordinated by Dr.Vaibhavi.P.S, Assistant Professor,Department of Psychiatry,and Dr.Vijaykumar.K.S,Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Psychology.Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Vinay.H.R,Associate Professor,Department of Psychiatry.
 
Programme saw active participation from students.Pamphlets containing ‘myths and facts about suicide’ were distributed at the end of the session.
