The Department of Community Medicine, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the AIMS NSS Unit and KSRTC Nagamangala Depot, organized a health screening and awareness program on 4th September 2025 as part of the National Nutrition Week celebrations. The theme for this year was “Eat Right for a Better Life”. A total of 100 KSRTC employees, including drivers, conductors, mechanics, and administrative staff, participated in the program. Health screening was carried out to detect hypertension, diabetes, and obesity through measurements of blood pressure, random blood sugar, height and weight (for BMI calculation). Several cases of hypertension, diabetes and overweight were identified during the screening. Following the health check-up, a health education session was conducted by Dr. Krishnaveni Y. S. (Assistant Professor), Dr. Kanchana N. Raj, and Dr. Sujean J. N. The session emphasized the importance of balanced diet, anemia prevention, obesity management, and lifestyle modifications. Practical tips on healthy eating and physical activity were also provided. |
