The Women Empowerment Cell organized a Guest Lecture on 18th March 2024, as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day, observed annually on 8th March.
Dr. T.K. Anuradha, Retired Director of the SATCOM Programme at ISRO Headquarters in Bengaluru, served as the Guest Speaker.
The event commenced with an inauguration by Vice Principal Dr. Aliya Nusrath, accompanied by Dr. Manjula, the Organizing Chairperson, and Dr. Rajini, the Organizing Secretary.
Dr. Aliya Nusrath highlighted the significance of Women’s Day celebrations and discussed AIMS’ initiatives for women empowerment.
Dr. T.K. Anuradha, the esteemed speaker, addressed the theme of International Women’s Day: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” She emphasized the crucial role of empowering and investing in women, advocating for gender-responsive financing to enhance the economy and create a healthier, safer, and more equitable world for all. Dr. Anuradha also discussed the responsibilities of women and girls in balancing personal and professional lives.
The session was well-attended by members of the Women Empowerment Cell, faculty from various departments, as well as MBBS and Nursing students.
The guest lecture was dynamic and interactive, inspiring all attendees to contribute towards the upliftment of girls and women.
