The Skill and Simulation Centre at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences organized a 6-day workshop for faculty from various departments on Comprehensive Emergency Care and Life Support (ECLS) in association with JeevaRaksha Trust, RGUHS from 4th of November to 9th of November 2024.
The workshop was inaugurated on 4th of November 2024 and was presided by Dr M G Shivaramu, Principal AIMS & Dean Health Sciences(Medical), ACU and attended by dignitaries; Dr Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, AIMS and Dr Kiran M Naik, Vice Principal, AIMS, Dr. Shravya MS, Skill and Simulation Center Coordinator, Dr. Vijaybhaskar Reddy Kandula, Co Founder of JeevaRaksha Trust, team members and instructors from JeevaRaksha trust.
Dr M G Shivaramu, Principal AIMS & Dean Health Sciences (Medical), ACU, emphasised the importance of guided protocols in various emergency situations improving patient safety.
The Objective of the course was to ensure confident and competent doctors applying sound emergency care principles to save lives. Sessions covered a variety of topics, including recognition of critical illness and injury, providing effective stabilisation and safe transferring to specialists for higher level of care.
The workshop successfully enhanced the participant’s knowledge and skills. Faculty members learned the basics in evaluation, stabilisation, treatment and referral of emergency cases in all the specialties reducing morbidity and mortality. A TOT session was held on 9th of November which highlighted the need for a structured curriculum and a strong communication strategy to be an effective Instructor. The program concluded with a post-test evaluation and feedback session. A valedictory session was conducted on 8th of November 2024 and was chaired by Dr Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, AIMS, Dr. Ram Krishnan Nair and Dr. Vijaybhaskar Reddy Kandula, Co Founder of JeevaRaksha Trust.
