Department of Community Medicine in association with NSS Unit AIMS have Organized National Nutrition Week Program

Venue- Adishakthi High School, Hulikere village
National Nutrition Week (NNW) is a significant annual event celebrated in the country from September 1st to 7th each year since 1982. This week-long observance is dedicated to tackling the complex issues of malnutrition and advocating for healthier lifestyles nationwide. The Department of Community Medicine has launched its Nutrition Month programs with the school health education initiative, aiming to Nourishing Young Minds.
 
On 5 th september 2024 at Adishakthi high school, Hulikere village. 
The program started with an opening remarks by Dr.Vijay S Hugar. Phase 2 MBBS students presented a Role play and awareness session with nutrition games for the school students,The program aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of junk food and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Around 150 high school students from Adishakthi high school attended the programme.
 
All staff members from Community medicine department, including MSW personnel and non-teaching staff, attended the program. In conclusion, the successful nutrition awareness program has made a significant impact on school children, equipping them with valuable knowledge about healthy eating and setting the stage for improved dietary habits and overall well-being.
