On January 30, 2024, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences hosted a comprehensive workshop organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Medical Education Unit (MEU). Aimed at enhancing participants’ grasp of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) within the framework of Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), the workshop featured engaging sessions and discussions. The primary objectives included fostering a positive learning environment through an ice-breaking session, providing a clear introduction to EPAs in the context of CBME, demystifying EPA description elements, facilitating entrustment-based discussions, and sharing practical experiences related to EPA-based curricula implementation.
The outcomes of the program were notable as participants, numbering 30 faculty members, gained a comprehensive understanding of EPAs in CBME. The ice-breaking session successfully built a positive learning community, and the discussions on EPA description elements and entrustment enriched participants’ skills. Practical insights from experienced resource persons contributed significant value, enhancing the collective knowledge of best practices in implementing EPA-based medical education. Overall, the workshop achieved its objectives, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among faculty members and promoting a deeper understanding of the role of EPAs in medical education.
