Brief Report of the Event |
The Department of Community Medicine, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), in association with AIMS NSS Units 1 & 2 and Bellur Police Station, organized a Mega Anti-Drug Awareness Rally on 02 July 2026 to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The programme was inaugurated by Pujya Sri Sri Satkeerthinatha Swamiji, who flagged off the rally. Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Principal, AIMS, emphasized the harmful effects of narcotic drugs and the importance of maintaining a drug-free campus. He administered the Drug-Free Campus Pledge to students. Sri Cheluvaraju, DYSP, Mandya, highlighted the legal, social, and health consequences of drug abuse, while Sri Ravikumar, Sub-Inspector, Bellur Police Station, encouraged students to report drug-related activities to the college authorities or the police. The rally commenced from AIMS Campus and proceeded to Bellur Cross, with students carrying placards and raising slogans promoting a drug-free society. Medical students, nursing students, NSS volunteers, faculty members, and police personnel actively participated, creating awareness among the public regarding the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, addiction-free life. |

Feedback Analysis (Brief) |
