Objective/s of the Event |
The CME workshop aimed to provide participants with a practical and clinically oriented understanding of electroencephalography (EEG), from basic principles and interpretation of brain waves to its application in bedside neurological and psychiatric practice. The programme focused on understanding the clinical significance of EEG, its role in psychiatry, challenges in EEG interpretation and implementation, and practical exposure through an EEG workshop and demonstration. |

The “EEG – Basics to Bedside” CME Workshop was organized by the Departments of Psychiatry and Neurology, Adichunchanagiri University, in association with the Indian Psychiatric Society – Karnataka Chapter, on 20th August 2026 at the MEU Hall, BGS MCH, Nagaruru, Bengaluru and focused on providing participants with a comprehensive and clinically relevant understanding of EEG. The academic programme included sessions on “Decoding the Brain Waves,” “EEG in Psychiatry – Signals Beyond the Symptoms,” and “Challenges of EEG: Interpretation to Implementation. An important component of the CME was the EEG workshop and demonstration, providing participants with practical exposure to EEG-related concepts and their bedside application. The programme also included a quiz to reinforce learning and encourage active participation. Postgraduate Residents – Dr Alvarene Kharpuria, Dr. Jyothishree M and Dr. Esha M. Nobbay, Department of Psychiatry, AIMS, represented the institution and participated in open quiz and won appreciation for winning the same. Overall, the CME provided an effective platform for interdisciplinary learning and enhanced understanding of the practical application of EEG in clinical practice, networking opportunities, and professional growth. |
