Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words)

The course was an intensive five-day programme that included interactive sessions on curriculum development and implementation, Kern’s 6-step approach with group activities. My group’s curriculum was the best, and we explored innovative teaching-learning methods addressing various levels of Bloom’s taxonomy and Miller’s pyramid. We studied advanced assessment tools, workplace-based activities with role-play, program evaluation models, leadership, and how to incorporate digital technology into medical education. A substantial part of the programme was devoted to medical educational research and research methodology, where we learned to use both qualitative and quantitative methods in our academic work. We also learned how to use St. John’s LMS for the further submission of assignments, e-portfolio, posters, and other requirements of upcoming online training.

Dr.Divyashree, Associate professor, Department of Physiology has actively participated in this 1st contact session of Advanced Course in Medical Education at St. John’s Medical College.

The sessions were very informative and thought-provoking. All the particpants have appreciated this program.

Outcome

1. During the contact session, we made to refine and present our individual educational innovation projects. They synchronized project protocols, established clear metrics, and created realistic timelines for implementation.

2. The session also facilitated the creation of a collaborative national network of medical educators. This network is prepared to drive systemic reforms, manage institutional quality assurance, and lead basic course workshops at their respective institutions.
