Brief Report of the Event
|
A Live Endoscopy Workshop and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programme was conducted at Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, Madikeri, with the aim of promoting advances in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and enhancing the practical knowledge and surgical skills of the participants.
The programme included live endoscopic surgical demonstrations, wherein experienced faculty showcased various laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, emphasizing surgical anatomy, operative techniques, patient selection, and prevention and management of complications. The live procedures provided participants with an opportunity to observe real-time decision-making and interact with the operating team.
The CME sessions covered recent advances, evidence-based practices, and challenging aspects of endoscopic gynecological surgery, followed by interactive discussions and question-and-answer sessions.
The event served as an excellent platform for knowledge sharing, hands-on learning, and professional interaction, facilitating the adoption of safe and contemporary minimally invasive surgical practices in routine gynecological care.
Myself Dr. Mahendra G, Professor and Head, Department of obstetrics and gynaecology, B G Nagara, Mandya. had attended the workshop as the resource person and as well the laparoscopic surgeon to demonstrate a case of Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy with retroperitoneal dissection, on a patient with uterine adenomyosis which was complete within 40 mins. The procedure was performed as a part of management for the patient’s condition and a teaching opportunity for all the postgraduate students, delegates and other aspiring laparoscopic surgeons attending the CME.
