Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words)

The Faculty Development Programme titled “Integrating NCAHP Competency Based Curriculum for Physiotherapy” was conducted on 23rd and 24th September 2026 by BGS Vijnatham Institute of Physiotherapy,Nagarur,Banglore, Adichunchanagiri University, Bengaluru Campus. The programme was designed for faculty members of physiotherapy colleges in and around Nelamangala, Bengaluru, and was conducted as a hands-on academic workshop. Dr. R. Vasanthan, P.T., Ph.D., Professor, was the resource person for the programme

The programme focused on understanding the NCAHP curriculum framework, competency-based physiotherapy education, curriculum integration, academic planning, teaching-learning strategies, and assessment methods. Day 1 included sessions on interaction and group dynamics, introduction to the NCAHP curriculum, competency-based curriculum, learning principles, competencies and learning objectives, and teaching-learning methods and media for cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The day concluded with a question-and-answer and feedback session. 

Day 2 focused on CO–PO mapping, assessment strategies, assessment of cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, and building values into physiotherapy education. The programme also included a session titled “Beyond the Lecture: Planting the Seeds of Heutagogy in Today’s Pedagogy”, followed by the valedictory session. 

Dr. Revanth Gowda M C, P.T., Assistant Professor & Dr. Manjesh M R, P.T., Assistant Professor Department of Physiotherapy had attended the FDP and Workshop has the delegates.

Feedback Analysis (Brief)

Participant Feedback:
1. Participants appreciated the structured approach to understanding the competency-based curriculum. 
2. The hands-on sessions on teaching-learning methods and assessment strategies were found useful for academic practice. 
3. Faculty members gained better understanding of competency formulation, learning objectives and CO–PO mapping. 
4. The sessions on cognitive, psychomotor and affective assessment were relevant to physiotherapy education. 
5. Participants valued the discussion on integrating values and contemporary pedagogical approaches into physiotherapy education. 

Overall Feedback: The programme provided a useful academic platform for faculty development and discussion regarding implementation of competency-based physiotherapy education.
