Dr Himani N, House Surgeon at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), B.G. Nagara, took part as a panellist in a session titled “Career Pathways After MBBS”. BGS MCH, Nagarur, organised the session as part of its Foundation Course for first-year MBBS students. It was held on 13 October 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, in Lecture Hall 2 of the New Building at BGS MCH, Nagarur.
Session Highlights
The institution-level session brought together seven panellists with backgrounds in military medicine, hospital administration, medical research, entrepreneurship and clinical training. Drawing on their own careers, the panellists showed the newly admitted students how many professional paths are open to them after MBBS, including postgraduate study.
The session also looked at the challenges students face in the first year of MBBS. The panel shared practical ways to plan study time, learn in a structured way and manage the large curriculum. Students asked questions throughout, and the panellists gave direct, experience-based advice.
Outcomes and Recognition
Dr Himani N received a Certificate of Participation for her role on the panel. Hearing from the other panellists gave her a wider view of career options in medicine. It also strengthened her ability to mentor junior students on academic planning, career choices and informed decision-making.
Conclusion
The session helped first-year students begin their medical studies with greater clarity and confidence, and showed why mentorship and lifelong learning matter in medical education. AIMS congratulates Dr Himani N on representing the institution and helping guide the next generation of medical students.
