Dr. Tejaswi H L, Vice Principal and Professor of Anatomy at Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), B.G. Nagara, was a Guest Speaker and Resource Person at a State-Level CME Workshop on 15 October 2026. The theme was “Digital Transformation in Anatomy Teaching and Learning: Enhancing Competencies Through Innovation.” The Department of Anatomy, BGS Medical College and Hospital, Adichunchanagiri University Bengaluru Campus, Nagarur, organised the workshop to mark World Anatomy Day. It ran from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm in the MEU Hall, BGS MCH, and was limited to 30 delegates so that everyone could get hands-on practice.

Programme Highlights

The workshop opened with an inauguration that included a book release. The academic programme had talks on the digital revolution in anatomy education and on artificial intelligence and learning management systems. It also had hands-on sessions on AI-powered anatomy teaching and on digital assessment.

Dr. Tejaswi H L led the hands-on session on “Digital Content Creation in Anatomy.” Working on their own laptops, delegates practised planning, scripting and producing short, accurate anatomy teaching content. She also sat on the panel for “Digital Anatomy: Enhancing Spatial Understanding, Clinical Correlation and Competency – Can Technology Replace the Traditional Anatomy Lab?” The panel concluded that digital tools add to cadaveric dissection rather than replace it.

Outcomes

Delegates came away with practical skills in:

  • creating digital content
  • using AI tools and learning management systems
  • designing digital assessments aligned with CBME competencies
  • combining 3D and virtual resources with traditional dissection-based teaching

Dr. Tejaswi H L received a certificate recognising her role as Guest Speaker.

Relevance to AIMS and the University

The Department of Anatomy at AIMS will use what came out of the workshop for:

  • digital formative assessments
  • AI-assisted lesson planning
  • short digital content to support dissection-hall teaching for I MBBS students

The material will also feed into faculty development programmes run by the Medical Education Unit, and it raises research questions about how well blended digital and cadaveric learning works.

Conclusion

The workshop strengthened academic collaboration among Adichunchanagiri University institutions and supported CBME implementation. It also advanced the University’s priorities in AI and digital innovation in medical education. Dr. Tejaswi H L’s role as resource person and panellist raised the academic profile of AIMS and Adichunchanagiri University at the state level.
