AIMS Students Reach Semifinals of PRAXIS Medical Quiz at INNERVATE ‘26

Mr. Chandan K. Reddy and Mr. Nimbalkar Sangram Navnath, Phase III Part II MBBS students of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), B.G. Nagara, took part in PRAXIS – Medical Quiz on 25 October 2026. The quiz was held as part of INNERVATE ‘26, a national-level undergraduate medical conference at St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru. Twenty teams competed, and the AIMS team cleared the preliminary rounds to reach the semifinal stage.

The Competition

The quiz covered four paraclinical subjects: Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology. It opened with a screening round, followed by further competitive rounds. These tested clinical reasoning, analytical thinking, rapid recall and the use of theory in clinical scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

Through the competition, the students:

  • strengthened their understanding of the four paraclinical subjects
  • improved their clinical reasoning and diagnostic thinking
  • practised quick recall, accurate answers and decisions under time pressure
  • worked on teamwork and communication while tackling difficult questions
  • identified areas for further preparation

Relevance to the Institution

The experience will help the students prepare for university examinations and competitive examinations such as NEET-PG. It reinforces the value of linking paraclinical subjects with clinical scenarios, which builds a strong foundation for clinical practice. It also encourages self-assessment, independent learning and continuous academic improvement.

Conclusion

Reaching the semifinals of a national-level quiz among 20 teams reflects the students’ academic preparation and teamwork. AIMS congratulates Mr. Chandan K. Reddy and Mr. Nimbalkar Sangram Navnath on their performance and encourages them to keep striving for excellence.
