The Department of Anatomy, Sri Siddhartha Medical College and Hospital, Tumkur, held the celebration on 28 October 2026.

Guest Lecture

From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Dr. Tejaswi H L gave a guest lecture titled “Neurons, Neuroglia and Beyond: Organisation of the Nervous System” to about 250 I MBBS students in the Anatomy Lecture Hall. The lecture covered:

  • myelination and Schwann cells
  • the types and functions of neuroglia
  • sensory neurons and the organisation of sensory pathways
  • how the central and peripheral nervous systems are organised

He followed the path of a signal through the nervous system, annotated his slides live and asked the students questions throughout, which kept them actively involved.

World Anatomy Day Function

The lecture was followed by the World Anatomy Day function, which began with the lighting of the lamp. As Chief Guest, Dr. Tejaswi H L distributed prizes and certificates to Anatomy toppers and competition winners. The Department of Anatomy, SSMC, felicitated him with a certificate and a memento.
