Objectives of the event |
The primary objective of the event was to conduct the open defence and viva-voce examination of Ms. Sharmadha K L (Register No. 21PAN001). The examination provided an academic platform for the candidate to present and defend her doctoral research before an expert examination board and the academic community. It aimed to assess her understanding of the research topic, methodological approach, findings and scholarly contribution to the field of Medical Anatomy. The interactive question-and-answer session provided an opportunity for the examiners and the audience to critically discuss various aspects of the research and seek clarification from the candidate. The PhD Open Defence and Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Sharmadha K L, Register No. 21PAN001, was successfully conducted on 03 August 2026 at the MEU Hall, AIMS, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Ms. Sharmadha K L is a PhD candidate in the specialty of Medical Anatomy, and her research was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Tejaswi H L. The title of her thesis was “Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and VEGFR-receptor Expression in Placenta of Gestational Diabetic Women.” The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Tejaswi H L, Research Supervisor, who welcomed the members of the Board of Examiners, faculty members, students and research scholars. Ms. Sharmadha K L delivered a comprehensive presentation of her research work for approximately 45 minutes. The presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session during which the members of the Board of Examiners and the audience sought clarifications regarding various aspects of the study. The candidate responded confidently and satisfactorily to all the questions raised during the examination. The candidate also presented a summary of her research publications and scientific presentations completed during her PhD tenure, highlighting her scholarly contributions to the field of Medical Anatomy. Following the successful completion of the viva-voce examination and due deliberation, the External Examiner, Dr. Murali Manju B V, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the research work and the candidate’s performance during the examination. He recommended Ms. Sharmadha K L for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Anatomy under the Faculty of Medical & Allied Health Sciences, Adichunchanagiri University. |
