The 9th International Conference on Plasmodium vivax Research (ICPvR) 2025 was organized between 12th and 14th February 2025 at Puducherry, India by ICMR- Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry.
As part of the scientific programme, Dr. Varsha .G and Dr. Kanchana N Raj, Senior resident and Post-graduate student from Dept. of Community medicine, AIMS, BG Nagara, visited the ICMR- Vector Control Research Centre, Puducherry.
ICMR-VCRC has been engaged in basic and applied research with the primary objective of finding newer methods and developing strategies of vector control for the control of vector borne diseases. The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated the VCRC as a collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Lymphatic filariasis and Integrated Vector Management. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in 2000 recognized the Centre as one of the Institutes of Excellence in India for Courses in Health Training. We visited the state-of-the-art in-house insectry, entomology labs, entomology museum and ISBL-II laboratories. This visit has paved way for future collaborations with VCRC for exploring research in entomology and Integrated vector management
