International Mother Language Day

Kannada Balaga in association with NSS unit of AIMS organised a special program for the primary and high school children & staff on the occasion of ‘International Mother Language Day’ observed world over on February 21st every year. This year’s theme is ‘Multilingual education- a necessity to transform education’.

The awareness program was held at Government primary and high schools, Kembare (Bommanahalli), Nagamangala Taluk, Mandya. Dr. Vinay. H.R, Secretary of Kannada Balaga through his talk highlighted the importance of learning at various levels in their mother language. The students and staff actively took part in it expressing their perspectives.

Dr. M.G. Shivaramu, Principal and Honorary president of Kannada Balaga and Dr. Mahendrappa.K.B, Executive president under whose guidance the event was conducted, have planned to initiate an online campaign ‘ಭಾಷೆ ಹಲವು ಭಾವನೆ ಒಂದೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾಷೆ ನಮ್ಮ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ’. Dr. Raghavendra.S.K and Dr. Sheethal.M.P co-ordinators of AIMS NSS units are also part of this initiative.
