The Department of General Medicine, AIMS, organised a guest lecture and CME on 25 September 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the BGS Global Broadcasting Centre, B.G. Nagara, to mark World Alzheimer’s Day. The programme, titled “Approach to Dementia” and “Approach to Common Haematological Disorders – Case Based Discussion”, aimed to update and enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty, postgraduates and students on the clinical approach to dementia and common haematological disorders, thereby creating greater awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
 
The event began with an invocation song seeking the blessings of the Almighty and Paramapoojya Swamiji, followed by the formal inauguration. Dr. J. Inbanthan, Head of the Department of General Medicine, introduced the dignitaries and guest speakers. Eminent resource persons Dr. Apuroopa, Consultant Neurologist, Sparsh Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, and Dr. Sunil Udgire, Consultant Haematologist, Paediatric Oncologist and BMT Physician, Sparsh Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, delivered insightful and interactive sessions. The programme was graced by Dr. M. G. Shivaramu, Principal of AIMS, and Dr. K. M. Shivakumar, Chief of Hospital, AH&RC.
 
The lectures were informative and case-based, enabling participants to gain updated knowledge and practical perspectives on the topics discussed. The event concluded successfully, benefiting all attendees, improving understanding of dementia and haematological disorders, and fulfilling its objective of raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
 
*Outcomes of the Event:*
The faculty, postgraduates and students enhanced their knowledge and skills on dementia and common haematological disorders. The programme was highly interactive and successful, benefitting all participants and creating awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
