The Student Council, in association with the AIMS Student Support Cell and AIMS Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), BG Nagara, organized SAPIENTIA 2025 – The Annual AIMS Inter-Collegiate Medical Quiz on 28th November 2025. The event aimed to promote analytical reasoning, clinical aptitude, and creative medical decision-making among medical students.

With 50+ teams from various medical colleges across Karnataka, the event created a vibrant and academically stimulating platform.

Objectives

SAPIENTIA 2025 was designed to:

• Encourage academic collaboration among medical colleges

• Strengthen clinical reasoning and applied medical knowledge

• Provide an engaging and competitive learning experience for undergraduate medical students and interns

Brief details of the programme

The event began at 9:45 AM with registration. The quiz included rounds focused on diagnostic reasoning, visual interpretation, conceptual understanding, and lateral thinking.

• Preliminary Round: 35 questions (MCQs, video questions, analogies, history, riddles, etc.) → 10 teams advanced.

• Semi-Finals: Case-based, written, and crossword rounds → 6 teams qualified for the Finals including one host team from AIMS.

• Grand Finale: Connect the images, triads, reorder, general medicine, bidding, and rapid fire rounds.

Winners

After three tie-breaker rounds, the winners were declared as:

Ramesh S Basetti & Vinay Kumar D — ₹15,000

🥈 Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College & Research Centre

Prithviraj Rajan & Aishwarya R — ₹10,000

🥉 Mysore Medical College & Research Institute

Yashas MS & Preethan BR — ₹7,500

All participants received certificates and tokens of appreciation. Prizes were distributed during the valedictory ceremony in the presence of faculty and dignitaries.

Feedback & Highlights

Participants appreciated the innovative format focusing on applied clinical reasoning and interactive learning. The event enhanced peer networking and healthy competitive spirit, with many expressing enthusiasms to participate in future editions.
