Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences > Departments (AIMS) > Department of Anatomy > Enhancing Clinical Decisions: Leveraging ClinicalKey for Healthcare Excellence
The Department of *ACU-Learning Resource Centre organized a workshop on “Enhancing Clinical Decisions: Leveraging ClinicalKey for Healthcare Excellence” on 14th November 2025 at the BGS Global Broadcasting Centre, AIMS.*

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr. M G Shivaramu, Principal, AIMS and Dean (Medical), ACU. The session was chaired by Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Professor of Biochemistry and Vice Principal, AIMS. The event was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Vasanthakumar M, Chief Librarian, ACU, and Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Customer Success Manager, Elsevier | Health Solutions.

The primary objective of the workshop was to equip participants with the skills necessary to enhance clinical decision-making using ClinicalKey. Participants learned to describe the core content types and search capabilities of ClinicalKey and understand how these tools support evidence-based practice at the point of care. The workshop also demonstrated at least three clinical workflow integrations of ClinicalKey, including EMR infobutton, mobile app, and drug interaction checks, using real-world patient scenarios. Participants were trained to apply ClinicalKey tools, including AI features, to retrieve and evaluate guidelines, procedures, or drug monographs to inform clinical decisions. Additionally, case studies were analyzed to illustrate how ClinicalKey helps reduce diagnostic time and unnecessary testing.

The workshop began with a keynote address by Dr. Aliya Nusrath, followed by an engaging session by Mr. Abhishek Gupta, who demonstrated the practical applications of ClinicalKey and its AI tools. A total of 92 participants attended the event, which was conducted in collaboration with AIMS-IQAC, Elsevier, and LIS Academy, Bangalore.

The outcomes of the workshop were highly positive. Participants gained hands-on experience with ClinicalKey resources, enhancing their ability to implement evidence-based practices. Faculty members and clinicians showed strong interest in incorporating ClinicalKey and AI tools into their workflows. Feedback collected from participants highlighted the practical relevance, clarity, and usefulness of the session.
