The Oral Hygiene Week 2026 activities were conducted at the Family Adoption Village, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) villages, and local schools, covering the villages of Gondenahalli, Chunchanahalli, Nagathehalli, Alisandra, Kanchanahalli, and Dadaga.

1. To create awareness regarding the importance of oral and dental hygiene.

Brief Report of the Event

Oral Hygiene Week 2026 was organized from 1st to 7th August 2026 by the Department of Dentistry and Department of Community Medicine, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, in association with AIMS NSS Units 1 & 2.

 The programme was conducted at the Family Adoption Village, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan villages and local schools with the aim of promoting oral and dental hygiene among the community. Various health education and outreach activities were conducted during the week. Oral health screening was carried out to identify common dental and oral health problems and to encourage timely consultation and treatment.

Awareness sessions were conducted on appropriate oral hygiene practices, including regular tooth brushing and maintaining good dental hygiene. Toothpaste and toothbrushes were distributed to selected beneficiaries to encourage healthy oral hygiene practices. School students and community members were actively involved in the awareness activities. The programme emphasized the importance of preventive oral healthcare and regular dental check-ups. The initiative also contributed to strengthening community awareness regarding oral health and encouraged individuals to adopt appropriate and sustainable oral hygiene practices.

Feedback Analysis (Brief)

The programme received positive feedback from community members and school students. Participants appreciated the oral health screening, awareness sessions and distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste. The interactive health education activities helped improve understanding of proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
