Brief Report of the Event

The Ph.D. Open Defence and Viva-Voce Examination of Dr. Namitha D., Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), B.G. Nagara, was conducted on 07 August 2026 at the Medical Education Unit (MEU) Hall, AIMS, in accordance with the Ph.D. Regulations of Adichunchanagiri University.

Dr. Namitha D. pursued her doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, Professor & Head, Department of Biochemistry, AIMS, and co-supervision of Dr. Asharani N., Professor & Head, Department of Biochemistry, Alva’s Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Moodubidire.

Dr. Namitha D. presented her doctoral research work entitled “Rediscovering Megalin as a Predictive Biomarker of Cardiovascular Risk Among Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.” Her presentation highlighted the objectives, methodology, major findings, and clinical significance of the research.

The presentation was followed by an academic interaction and critical evaluation by the Board of Examiners, comprising Dr. K. M. Shivakumar, Dean-cum-Principal, AIMS; Dr. Prashanth Kalappa, Dean, Research, Adichunchanagiri University; Dr. Shashidhara K.
