Objectives of the event |
The primary objective of the event was to conduct the open defence and viva-voce examination of the PhD candidate, Dr. Ajay N (Register No. 20PAN001). The examination provided an academic platform for the candidate to present and defend his research work before the Board of Examiners and the academic audience. It also aimed to assess the candidate’s knowledge, understanding, research skills and scholarly contribution to the field of Medical Anatomy. The interactive question-and-answer session facilitated scientific discussion and allowed the examiners and audience to seek clarification regarding various aspects of the research work. Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words) |
The PhD Open Defence and Viva-Voce Examination of Dr. Ajay N, Register No. 20PAN001, was successfully conducted on 03 August 2026 at the MEU Hall, AIMS. Dr. Ajay N is a PhD candidate in the specialty of Medical Anatomy, and his research was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Tejaswi H L. The title of his thesis was “Histomorphometric Analysis of Umbilical Cord in Preeclamptic Pregnancies: A Multicentre Study.” The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Tejaswi H L, Research Supervisor, who welcomed the members of the Board of Examiners, faculty members, students and research scholars. The candidate delivered a comprehensive presentation of his research work for approximately 45 minutes. This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session during which members of the Board of Examiners and the audience sought clarification on various aspects of the study. Dr. Ajay N responded confidently and satisfactorily to the questions raised during the examination. As part of the defence, the candidate also presented a summary of his research publications and scientific presentations completed during his PhD tenure, highlighting his scholarly contributions to the field of Medical Anatomy. Following the successful completion of the viva-voce examination and due deliberation, the External Examiner, Dr. Mamatha H, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the research work and the candidate’s performance during the examination. She recommended Dr. Ajay N for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Anatomy under the Faculty of Medical & Allied Health Sciences, Adichunchanagiri University. |
