Dr. Nandhakumar V, Associate Professor, Department of Peadiatrics, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), participated as the Resource Person during the “World Breastfeeding Week 2026” programme organised by the Department of OBG Nursing and Child Health Nursing, ACN, in association with the Department of Pediatrics, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS). He delivered an excellent and insightful talk to mothers and ASHA workers, sharing expert guidance on breastfeeding practices and providing the necessary information to help mothers adopt successful breastfeeding methods. His contribution greatly enriched the participants’ knowledge and was formally recognised with a Certificate of Appreciation by the College.

Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words)
|
As part of the World Breastfeeding Week 2026 celebrations (1st–7th August 2026), an awareness programme was organised on 6th August 2026 at the Health and Wellness Centre, Brahmadevarahalli, Mandya District, by the Department of OBG Nursing and Child Health Nursing, Adichunchanagiri College of Nursing, in association with the Department of Paediatrics, AIMS. Around 100 participants, including nursing mothers and ASHA workers from the surrounding community, attended the session. Dr. Nandhakumar V, Associate Professor, AH & RC, served as the Resource Person and delivered an excellent and engaging talk on breastfeeding practices, covering the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, correct positioning and attachment techniques, common difficulties faced by mothers, and ways to sustain successful breastfeeding. He provided the necessary information and practical insights to help mothers adopt healthy feeding practices, and encouraged ASHA workers to continue promoting these practices at the grassroots level. Faculty members and dignitaries, including Dr. S.N. Sridhara (Vice Chancellor, ACU) as Patron and Dr. C.K. Subbaraya (Registrar, ACU) as Guest of Honour, along with fellow resource persons, graced the occasion. The session was well received, and Dr. Nandhakumar V was later felicitated with a Certificate of Appreciation for his valuable contribution to the programme’s success.
