Immunization Programme

Objectives

1.To create awareness among school children regarding the importance of immunization.

2.To promote awareness regarding the National Immunization Schedule and age-appropriate vaccination.

3.To identify children who require vaccination as per the recommended schedule.

4.To facilitate vaccination of eligible beneficiaries.

5.To educate children, parents and teachers regarding vaccine-preventable diseases and the benefits of vaccination.

6.To address common myths and misconceptions related to immunization.

7.To promote timely and complete vaccination for prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases.

An Immunization Programme was organized at Bhaktanatha Swami School, B.G. Nagara, by the Department of Community Medicine, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), in collaboration with Agachalli Subcentre, CHC Bellur, and AIMS NSS Units 1 and 2. The programme was conducted with the participation of 100 school children.

The programme focused on creating awareness regarding the importance of immunization in preventing vaccine-preventable diseases and maintaining good health among children. The students were educated regarding the importance of receiving vaccines at the appropriate age and completing the recommended vaccination schedule. The session also highlighted the role of vaccination in protecting both individuals and the community from vaccine-preventable diseases.

The healthcare team provided appropriate guidance regarding vaccination and encouraged students to communicate vaccination-related information to their parents and family members. Common doubts and misconceptions related to immunization were addressed through interaction with the students. The programme also emphasized the importance of maintaining vaccination records and seeking timely vaccination services from the nearest health facility.

The active participation of the Community Medicine faculty, Agachalli Subcentre, CHC Bellur, NSS Units 1 and 2, school authorities and students contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
