Theme : Walk Today for Healthier Tomorrow
To celebrate World Heart Day a 5 Kilometre WALKATHON, a fitness initiative was organised by Department of Cardiology, Adichunchanagiri Hospital, B G Nagara in the Divine presence of Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji, Hon’ble Chancellor of ACU
Poojya Sri Sri Purushothamanandanatha Swamiji, Secretary of SAST, Poojya Sri Shambunatha Swamiji of Hassan branch, Poojya Sri Mangalanath Swamiji of Chikkaballapur branch, Poojya Sri Chandrashekaranatha Swamiji of Dasarighatta branch, Poojya Sri Shivaputranatha Swamiji of Kabbali branch and others graced the occasion.
Mr Chaluvaraya Swamy, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, GOK inaugurated the event and flagged off the march.
BGS WALKATHON logo was released by Cine actors Sri Dhanveer Gowda, Sri Yashas Surya and Sri Chetan Gowda.
Walk – Run and Have Fun
More than 12000 people including faculty and students from all the constituent colleges and schools of ACU, general public and devotees of the Math participated in the program.ACU officials, all the Principals and Deans of ACU, family members and Rotarian Srinivas Murthy, District Governor 3192 participated in the Walkathon.
Prizes and Certificates were issued for the winners of various competitions .
