Department of Ophthalmology in association with Karnataka Ophthalmic Society and Karnataka Medical Council (credit point -1) conducted a CME on “Silent Thief of Sight  : Role of Perimetry in detection of Glaucoma” on Glaucoma Day – 12th March 2025 at Lecture Hall – 1, AIMS.
 
The CME was conducted under the guidance of Dr M G Shivaramu, Principal AIMS & Dean Health Sciences (Medical), ACU and graced by the presence of Dr. Aliya Nusrath, Vice Principal, AIMS, Dr. Niharika Shetty Krishna Professor and HOD, Department of Ophthalmology, AIMS, Dr. D N Prakash, Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, Dr Srinivas, Professor, Department of Ophthalmology.
 
Dr. Venugopal, Final year Junior Resident gave wonderful talk about Optic Nerve Head – Anatomy and Physiology of Intraocular Pressure.
 
Dr. Madhurya, Final year Junior Resident gave informative talk about Retinal Nerve Fiber layer – Anatomy.
 
The esteemed guest speaker, Dr. Meena Gopinath Menon MS, DNB, FRCS, Consultant Glaucoma services at Shankara Eye Hospital, Bangalore/Coimbatore, provided expert guidance on Disc changes in Glaucoma and How to obtain and interpret Humphrey Field Analyser.
 
Objective of the CME was to create awareness about the Glaucoma and to know in detail about the optic nerve anatomy and changes in glaucoma and  how to obtain a Humphrey Field Analyser and interpret in detail. 
 
Outcome of the programme: Presentees gained knowledge about the anatomy of optic nerve head, retinal nerve fiber layer and to interpret Humphrey Field Analyser.
