| 11 | Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words) | The Department of Pathology, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, actively participated in the 52nd Annual State Conference of the Karnataka Chapter of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (KAPCON 2026) held from 3rd to 5th July 2026 at JSS Medical College, Mysuru.
The department was represented by Dr. Vijayshankar S and Dr. Apoorva Pandit in various academic and organizational capacities. Dr. Vijayshankar S participated as an Executive Committee Member of KCIAPM, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Diagnostic and Academic Pathology (JDAP), and Faculty Resource Person. During the conference, the latest issue of JDAP was formally released. As part of the scientific programme, Dr. Vijayshankar S served as a panelist in the discussion titled “Beyond Diagnosis: AI in Postgraduate Pathology Education,” sharing perspectives on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in competency-based pathology training and medical education. The session generated engaging discussions on the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into postgraduate teaching. Dr. Apoorva Pandit represented the department as an Executive Committee Member of KCIAPM and Head of the Social Media Subcommittee, contributing to the organizational and academic activities of the conference. The conference provided an excellent platform for scientific exchange, professional networking, and dissemination of recent advances in pathology, thereby enhancing the academic visibility and contribution of the Department of Pathology, AIMS. |
