NSS Unit AIMS , Department of Community Medicine in association with BGS First Grade College BG Nagar observed *‘World Obesity Day’* on 5th March 2024 at BGS First Grade College Auditorium, B G Nagar.
On this occasion an awareness session was conducted at BGS First Grade College, B G Nagar. Dr.Vijay S Hugar NSS Program officer AIMS addressed the College students and faculty and briefed about Emerging Epidemic Trends of Obesity and its Complications, mainly highlighted about Childhood obesity and Teenage obesity. Around 120 students and Faculty took part actively during the session. Dr.Vijay also thrown light on Life-style Modification, Diet and Physical Activity to Prevent Obesity.
Mr.Hemaraju faculty of degree college addressed the gathering and explained about adverse effects of Modern life-style in getting obesity and other lifestyle disorders.
Mr.Nagaraju Medico social worker AIMS conducted an activety to promote physical activity to prevent obesity, and advised to perform the activity daily.
Mr.Nikhil, faculty and program organizer BGS First grade college, other teaching and non teaching staff were present in the program.
