*National Youth Day 2024*
In commemoration of National Youth Day 2024, the NSS Unit of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and the Department of Community Medicine joined hands to organize a vibrant celebration in collaboration with SJ BGS Polytechnic College, B G Nagara.
The primary aim of the event was to instill a sense of inspiration and purpose among the youth, encapsulated in the theme “Arise, Awake, and Realize the Power you Hold.” To achieve this objective, a Speech Competition was orchestrated, challenging diploma students to express their thoughts on the topic “Your Role Model.”
The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 20 students engaging in the speech competition. Dr. Vijay Hugar, NSS officer at AIMS, graced the occasion with a thought-provoking Guest Lecture on the pivotal “Role of Youth in Nation Building.” More than 100 students attended the program, where Prabhudeva MC, MSW, actively interacted with students, delving into discussions about prevalent youth issues. The session, chaired by Prof Giriyanna, Principal of BGS Polytechnic College, provided a platform for insightful dialogue and exchange of ideas.
As a recognition of the participants’ efforts and achievements, Mr. Nagaraju, MSW at AIMS, presented prizes to the winners of the Speech Competition. The event, overall, left a lasting impact on the 100 students present, inspiring them through the profound teachings and quotations of Swami Vivekananda. The objectives of the celebration were met by fostering a spirit of introspection, empowerment, and active engagement among the youth, aligning with the ethos of National Youth Day.
