On the occasion of International Women’s Day celebration, Mandya District Police Well-being Centre, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology, AIMS, B.G. Nagara, organized a special lecture on “Women and Mental Health” for women police officers on 25-March-2025 at conference Hall, District police office, Mandya .
The Special lecture was conducted under the guidance of Dr M G Shivaramu, Principal AIMS & Dean Health Sciences (Medical), The event was graced by Chief Guests Sri Thimmaiah C.E., Additional Superintendent of Police-1, Sri Gangadhara Swamy S.E., Additional Superintendent of Police-2, and Mr. Sandeep B.H., Well-being Officer, Mandya District Police.
Ms. Bramaramba D Honnugudi, Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Psychology, and Mr. Bharath Bhushan M N, Consultant PSW, Department of Psychiatry, AIMS, B.G.Nagara were the guest speakers for the program.
Ms. Bramaramba spoke about the importance of mental health in women police officers, the causes and warning signs of mental illness, and various psychiatric disorders affecting women.
Mr. Bharath Bhushan discussed healthy practices for maintaining positive mental health, its benefits, and key take aways for mental well-being. The session also included an engaging group activity to reinforce learning.
The main objectives of the Program was to educate women Police officers on the importance of Mental Health ,to teach them effective stress management techniques, and to promote resilience among them and to create a Safe environment for discussing mental health concerns.
Outcome of the Program : Women Police officers were actively participated and interacted in the session it increased awareness about mental health and they learned to practice positive thinking and it Enchanced Resilience and stress management skills . Finally the session was concluded with the group activity.
