On the Occasion of World Environment Day NSS Unit AIMS & Department of Community Medicine have organised *”Thousand Tree Plantation”* event in association with Range Forest Office Nagamangla in Tattahalli Village Nagamangla.
AIMS NSS program officer Dr.Vijay Hugar Welcome the Guests.
Program was inaugurated by Taluka Senior Civil Judge Mr. Philip Alonso Fernandez by planting a tree.
Chief Guest Mr.Shivaraju S N, addressed the gathering about need of today’s generation to become Environmental conscious.
Nagamangala Tahasildar Mr.Adarsh Expressed the Facts & figures of Effects of Deforestation.
Our Student NSS volenteers planted trees around marked areas of Tattahalli village, and awareness was created among villagers about Land restoration and building drought resilience.
Importance of planting different types of trees were explained by Range Forest Officer(RFO) Mr.Sampath Kumar
Overall 65 NSS volenteers, faculty members of Community Medicine department, Nagamangla Range Forest workers, students of Ellen Public school Nagamangala and villagers were present in Program.
Outcome of Program:
1. Increased Awareness : Students learned about pressing environmental issues like climate change, plastic pollution, deforestation
2. Community Action:- Our student Volunteers involved in Tree planting drives, clean up events and Conservation activities
3. Collaboration:- Institutional collaboration with Range Forest Office Nagamangala helped in this event to share best practices and address shared environmental challenges.
