Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words) |
The Youth Red Cross Committee of Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences organized a World Blood Donors Day program on 15th June 2026 at BGS Institute of Nursing Sciences. The event was inaugurated by distinguished guests including Dr. Nandini S Raj (YRC Coordinator and AHRC Blood centre medical officer), Dr Prabhashree C (AHRC Blood centre medical officer), Mr. Sharath S (Vice Principal, HOD Community Nursing, BGS college of Nursing Sciences) and Mrs Soundarya (HOD Adult Nursing, BGS college of Nursing Sciences).
The session featured insightful lectures on topics such as:
Preliminary tests like Blood group typing, hemoglobin estimation, and a general vitals check-up was done.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from nursing students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff. A total of 26 donors voluntarily stepped forward to donate blood, contributing to this noble cause. Youth Red Cross volunteers actively participated in organizing and successfully carrying out the event, ensuring smooth coordination and donor assistance throughout the camp. Following blood donation, all donors were provided with appreciation certificates and refreshments as a token of gratitude for their valuable contribution towards society and healthcare services.The event was enthusiastically received, engaging both students and staff in promoting awareness of blood donation. |
