The Department of Paediatrics, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), BG Nagara, organized and led a week-long World Breastfeeding Week 2026 awareness campaign. The faculty members of the Department, along with postgraduate students, actively conducted breastfeeding awareness talks, counselling sessions and community outreach activities across AIMS Hospital and rural health centres, ensuring the successful implementation of the campaign at multiple centres across the region. |

| 11 | Brief Report of the Event (in about 200 words) | The Department of Paediatrics, Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), BG Nagara, successfully organized a week-long World Breastfeeding Week 2026 awareness campaign from 1st August to 7th August 2026, in line with this year’s global theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.” The celebrations were conducted across AIMS Hospital, Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs) and community healthcare facilities, reaching antenatal and postnatal mothers, families, healthcare workers and the general public through a series of educational and awareness activities. Throughout the week, the Department conducted breastfeeding awareness talks and counselling sessions, interactive discussions with antenatal and postnatal mothers, community outreach programmes at rural health centres, and breastfeeding promotion and support activities, with educational sessions emphasizing exclusive breastfeeding, early initiation and continued breastfeeding practices. The programme was led by the dedicated faculty members of the Department of Paediatrics, along with enthusiastic postgraduate students, whose active participation ensured its successful implementation at multiple centres across the region. The Department sincerely appreciates the support of the participating Community Health Centres, healthcare staff, and all mothers and families who contributed to making this campaign meaningful and impactful. |
